CBSE Flags poor - quality, inaccurate NCERT textbooks copies sold at discounts, issues advisory

 By Ananya Kumari

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a public advisory warning schools and parents about the circulation of counterfeit NCERT textbooks in the market. According to the official notice, the board has received information that “unauthorised book sellers are supplying counterfeit/fake versions of NCERT textbooks at discounted prices.”

These fake books reportedly suffer from poor print quality and content inaccuracies, raising concerns about their potential impact on students’ learning.

Some of the revised textbooks for classes 3 and 6 that were to be made available for the current academic session hit the market only after the session began.  photo credit: website
